NRL Finals Football Tips

rugby legue finals football

I hope everyone is looking forward to the two big NRL football matches this weekend, with the AFL grand final thrown in for good measure. Stop crying over your team dropping out and just enjoy the bloody things for what they are, which should be good games of football if they’re anything like last week! I haven’t been following the AFL closely this season but being a New South Welshman, I’ll have to back the Sydney Swans! With the Rugby League, my money is on the Rabbitohs and the Bulldogs.

They should be very close games though and I seriously wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be a Roosters v Panthers grand final, so I’m not using too much of the kitty this weekend.

South Sydney Rabbitohs win at Tom Waterhouse is paying $3.00 with his Take on Tom special. Maximum of $30 bets though. I haven’t put bets on for the Saturday games yet.

Go the Bunnies! :-)

Update: Rabbitohs 32 Roosters 22

Yes! I’m happy that I won money but I’m just as happy that the chooks are not playing in the grand final! ;-)
I’m a bunnies fan for the night!! Thinking I might be also backing them next week after their performance tonight.

Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On
When speaking of the champions
One stands above the rest
Of glories old and records proud
When often put to test
Of fine traditions, history
That others cannot best
They wear the red and green
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On
They mauled the Balmain Tigers
Slew the Dragons from St. George
The Seagulls and the Mounties next
Were crushed with mighty force
They humbled Parramatta
And the Berries in due course
They wear the red and green
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On
They plucked the Western Magpies
Slashed the Newtown bag of blue
The Eastern Suburbs rooster crowed
And then was conquered too
The greatest name in any game
Within South Sydney grew
They wear the red and green
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On.

Update 2: Canterbury Bulldogs beat the Penrith Panthers 18 to 12. Two nice little wins for the NRL this weekend. I’ll wait until grand final match day next weekend, but I’m thinking this could be a Bunnies year.
Also, while I’m at it, the Hawkes beat the Swans in AFL. Luckily for me I got caught up in more important things today and didn’t get around to putting my bet on for the Sydney Swans to win.
